IU Peer Coaches

Peer coaches are undergraduate students who can help you get "ahead of the curve" in your first year or anytime you want to up your game as student. Your peer coach can help you:

  • Develop good time-management and study strategies.
  • Set goals to achieve academic and career success.
  • Explore majors, minors, and certificate programs and other academic opportunities.
  • Brainstorm ways to get involved and gain experience.
  • Find information about careers, resume writing, and job/internship opportunities for students.
  • Impress your academic advisor with your skills using IU's degree planning tools.
  • Connect with campus resources and learn how to navigate your IU experience.

IU Peer Coaching services

All IU Peer Coaches can provide academic coaching and basic career coaching, but some specialize in one or the other. Learn more about the different types of IU Peer Coaches:

Peer Academic Coaches (PACs) help students with:

  • Developing good time-management skills.
  • Study strategies.
  • Setting goals to achieve academic success.
  • Exploring majors, minors, and certificate program and other academic opportunities.
  • Brainstorming ways to get involved and gain experience.
  • Preparing for your academic advising appointments using IU's degree planning tools.
  • Connecting with campus resources and learning how to navigate your IU experience.

Career Peers help students explore major and career possibilities, navigate career resources, find part-time jobs and internships, and write resumes. Career Peers are an extension of Career Exploration & Student Employment.

Peer coaches lead workshops for groups of students, assist with New Student Orientation, and provide one-on-one scheduled and drop-in coaching in the Wells Library.
