Getting started at IU Bloomington
Congratulations on being admitted to Indiana University Bloomington!
Getting off to a great start at Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) includes attending New Student Orientation (NSO), where you will become familiar with the campus and connect with other students while learning about academic opportunities and campus resources. You will also meet with an academic advisor and register for your first-semester classes.
As you transition into your first semester at IUB, you will have many questions and will want to know where to find the answers. Advising and Major Exploration Services is your first official "home" on campus, and experienced academic advisors will help you prepare for college life and academic work. We look forward to working with you.
IUB is committed to a liberal arts education: a general and specialized course of study that will provide you with the knowledge, skills, and perspectives to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you.
If you actively participate in your undergraduate studies—engaging with instructors, campus organizations, and peers—you will graduate with more than a degree. You will learn the skills needed to excel in any environment, including your chosen occupation.
